Puff makes me emotional too. (And damn all you potheads out there for trying to change its meaning.) And I generally find endings of any sort to be sad…Even though I cursed it vehemently as it aged and more and more of its parts needed to be replaced, I was even sad when they towed my previous car away to turn it into scrap metal–there were so many memories associated with it.
I am the same way, Helen. Endings are usually sad for me, even endings of objects (cars, computers, etc.). That’s why I am having such a hard time decluttering. Every object holds meaning, or it did for my mom. It is hard to toss or give away.
Puff the Magic Dragon is one of those songs I heard too much of and now I really don’t like it. Too many singings during summer camp. That and Simple Gifts/Lord of the Dance. If I never heard those songs again, it would be OK.
How sad. This feels like Puff the Magic Dragon.
That song always made me cry.
Oh. I didn’t think it was sad till Maureen mentioned it. Now I’m torn.

That said, I get supersappy over endings too.
