I don’t make quiches often, but when I do I remember my dad’s reaction to a Father’s Day gift I sent him: the book Real Men Don’t Eat Quiche. He phoned after opening it and laughingly said, “real men don’t eat quicky?”
He liked the quiches I cooked when visiting, but always called them quickies.
Oh, thank goodness! For a moment there I thought you had Food & Drink confused with Secrets & Lies.
Haha, I am sure he was thinking of those kinds of quickies when he first said it.
We have a theme developing today with foods being called funnier names! My dad always looked dubiously at quiche, but since it was in a pie shell, he was contractually required to eat it.
That’s funny.
Laughing at all of this…
What a fun way to start the month!
I composed it while making a phenomenal leek and bacon quiche/quicky.
That is funny. And I read that book.
