To me, opening a boxed lunch is like opening a gift on Christmas morning. What kind of sandwich will be in the box? What kind of chips? Will there be fruit? A cookie perhaps? I suppose if I had them a lot I would not like them so much. Or perhaps I’d like them more.

I admire your enthusiasm and sense of wonder.
I guess I am easy to please and rarely get wrapped gifts.
I don’t think I’ve ever had a boxed lunch, but I’ve been tempted to bid on mystery boxes at auctions for similar reasons.
Chips in a boxed lunch?
Crisps.
Yes, we call them chips here too. It’s just, I don’t think of them as an automatic boxed lunch item.
Chips almost always come with sandwiches here, so they are often included in a boxed lunch.
I’m shocked! But I shouldn’t be, as I now remember if I ordered a sandwich room service in the Philippines, it often came with potato chips.
